November 18th Petition Drive Recap

The determined efforts of PROP volunteers made our most recent Petition Drive Day on Sunday, November 18th an impressive success. We gathered over 1,500 signatures for our PROP Petition, and are getting ever closer to our goal of at least 25,000 signatures calling on Mayor Bloomberg and elected officials to make sweeping reforms in NYPD policy and practice.

PROP poets and players performed pieces at Tompkins Square Park on the Lower East Side. New Yorkers made comments while signing: “It happens to me and my friends all the time;” “I saw them beat that man for no good reason;” “They stop my sons too many times to count – say they ‘fit the description’.
